Primary Health Clinic, Fitness & Wellness, Telemedicine, Home Care — published
Four new organisational standards were published in 2025: ASF-PHC-STD-v1 (Primary Health Clinic), ASF-FIT-STD-v1 (Fitness & Wellness), ASF-TELE-STD-v1 (Telemedicine), and ASF-HC-STD-v1 (Home Care). Each standard underwent a 45-day public consultation and pilot testing at a minimum of two facilities per standard. The Home Care standard was the most extensively piloted — four sites across two countries — given the limited existing international evidence base for in-home care quality standards in transitional health system contexts.
Ambulatory Clinic Standard — Version 2.0
The Ambulatory Clinic Standard completed its first full revision (five years from v1.0) and was published as ASF-AMBU-STD-v2 in April 2025. The revision added three new specialty endorsements (narcology and addiction treatment; longevity and IV therapy; paediatric ambulatory care) and updated all means of verification to align with the surveyor field experience accumulated since 2022.
Surveyor Training Standard — Version 2.0
The Surveyor Training Standard was revised as ASF-SURV-STD-v2. The principal changes were: grounding of Domain D (competency assessment) in ISO/IEC 17024:2026 (revised edition); introduction of the mandatory independent second-assessor verification (Domain D4); and formalisation of the annual calibration session requirement (Domain E). The consultation ran for 45 days and included a specific call for submissions from certified surveyors on the practical workability of the assessment criteria.
ISO 9001 Ready and ISO 15189 Ready — launched
ASF launched two document packs distinct from accreditation: ISO 9001 Ready (documentation packs for ambulatory, hospital, dental, aesthetic, and fitness facilities preparing for ISO 9001 certification) and ISO 15189 Ready (184 documents for medical laboratories). These products are not accreditation standards; they are governed separately and are not within the scope of the International Standards Council. They are noted here for completeness.
Hospital and Ambulatory standards — v3 scoping begun
With the Hospital Standard v2.0 and Ambulatory Standard v2.0 both approaching their next three-year review windows, the Council opened scoping for v3.0 revisions in Q4 2025. The v3.0 revision scope for the Hospital Standard includes strengthened criteria on antimicrobial stewardship and health and migration, incorporating field data from ASF’s growing network in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

In 2026, ASF planned to complete the Hospital Standard v3.0 and Ambulatory Standard v2.0 → v3.0 revisions, publish all standards in full on the website, and move towards submission to ISQua EEA for external evaluation.
