01

Why they exist

These ten posters cover the patient-safety messages every facility must display and few can afford to design well: hand hygiene (the WHO Five Moments, hand-washing and hand-rub technique, the ‘ask me if I cleaned my hands’ invitation to patients), the three transmission routes — contact, droplet, airborne — falls prevention, and antibiotic stewardship. They were developed by ASF with the Public Health Institute of Georgia and David Tvildiani Medical University because Georgian hospitals asked for them during accreditation preparation: the international originals existed only in English, and translated, print-ready, locally illustrated versions did not.

Every poster is A4, designed to print on an ordinary office printer and to be read at two metres, and each carries a QR code that opens the poster’s own page here — so a poster on any wall in any hospital leads to the whole library. They are free for any facility, in any country, to print, display and translate; the only condition is that the ASF mark stays on the sheet. Hand hygiene and falls prevention are on the ASF Universal Floor — criteria every facility must meet whatever its category — and these posters are accepted as evidence for them.

Terms and format

Free — one condition

Print, display, copy and distribute electronically without asking. Translate into any language. Keep the ASF block and QR code on every copy. Do not alter the pictograms or the safety content.

Made for A4

Every poster prints on an office printer with no scaling. Distribute the PDF by email or WhatsApp to every ward, or print centrally and laminate. The QR on each poster is the poster’s own page, so a patient or a manager can scan any wall and find the rest.
