International partnerships that strengthen the standard.
ASF works with global health and quality bodies across four continents. These relationships inform our standards, extend our reach, and connect accredited facilities to the global quality improvement ecosystem.
ASF has been engaged with ISQua since 2024 and is preparing its standards for ISQua EEA external evaluation. ISQua is the international umbrella body for healthcare accreditation — engagement with ISQua standards, research, and annual conferences directly informs ASF’s standard development.
ASF standards align with WHO frameworks for patient safety, people-centred care, and health system governance. ASF leadership has held WHO staff positions and consultancy roles — including at the WHO Special Initiative for Health and Migration and the Department of Noncommunicable Diseases, Geneva.
ASF leadership holds the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the UEMS Section of Public Health. UEMS provides the European specialist medical framework that informs ASF’s clinical quality standards and the ASF Training Passport’s CME/CPD recognition across 40+ countries.
ASF holds an Accreditation Canada representative role in Georgia. The Qmentum framework — one of the world’s most rigorous accreditation standards — informs ASF’s governance and clinical quality domains. ASF is the formal Accreditation Canada country presence in Georgia.
ASF standards and operational findings are published through the Georgian Medical Journal (ISSN 3088-4322, Scopus-indexed, DOI prefix 10.66636, Crossref member #56297). ASF leadership serves as Editor-in-Chief of GMJ. This makes ASF the only accreditation body whose standards are citable open-access academic output.
PHIG provides the public health evidence infrastructure behind ASF’s community accountability standards. ASF leadership is Chair of PHIG. The patient council model, community feedback mechanisms, and population health indicators used in ASF accreditation are developed through PHIG’s research and policy work.
ASF leadership heads the School of Public Health at David Tvildiani Medical University in Tbilisi. The academic environment provides access to evidence, research capacity, and clinical expertise that directly informs ASF standard development and surveyor training.
