International Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities

Hospital Accreditation

Any hospital. Any size. Any country.
One internationally credible standard.

ASF hospital accreditation covers inpatient facilities of every scale — district hospitals, regional referral centres, specialist hospitals, teaching hospitals, and private clinics. The standard is the same. The certificate is internationally recognised. The process is built for facilities that the major accreditors have left behind.

Accreditation timeline: Membership begins on joining. The baseline survey takes place within 6 weeks. Accreditation is awarded when minimum standards are confirmed — typically 4–8 weeks for facilities that are ready, or following a structured improvement plan for facilities working toward readiness.

The accreditation gap

The major accreditors were built for a different hospital.

JCI requires over US$40,000 to apply. Accreditation Canada operates primarily in Canada and select international partnerships. HAS is France-specific. Every major international accreditor has minimum scale requirements, survey costs, and infrastructure demands that eliminate most of the world’s hospitals before the process begins.

The result: the hospitals that care for the majority of the world’s patients — district hospitals, regional facilities, specialist centres outside high-income urban markets — have no credible international accreditation option. Their patients have no independent quality signal. Their payers have no verified standard to fund against.

ASF was built to fill that gap. Not by lowering the standard — but by removing the barriers that have nothing to do with quality.

What hospital accreditation includes

Everything a standards-ready facility needs. Monthly.

Baseline survey

On-site assessment within weeks of joining. Standards gaps identified, work plan agreed, certificate issued. The survey is a starting point, not a finishing line.

Monthly monitoring

Quality indicators reviewed monthly. Adviser access on demand. ASF functions as the quality department the hospital does not have to hire separately.

Patient Voice

Independent patient council convened and facilitated by ASF. QR-based patient feedback. Every complaint answered in writing. Results published publicly each quarter.

Staff credentials

ASF Training Passport for every staff member — a QR-verified credential accepted for CME/CPD across 40+ countries. Portable across employers.

Annual survey

On-site assessment each year measuring progress from the documented baseline. Accreditation renewed on evidence of continuous improvement — not on passing a threshold test.

Public certificate

QR-verified certificate publicly listed at france-asf.fr/accredited-facilities. Patients, payers, and donors can verify accreditation status independently at any time.

The standard

Four domains. Hospital-specific evidence.

The ASF hospital standard addresses patient safety, clinical quality, governance, and community accountability — with evidence requirements calibrated to inpatient hospital settings.

01

Patient Safety

Medication safety, infection control, surgical safety checklists, adverse event reporting, patient identification, emergency response protocols.

02

Clinical Quality

Care pathway adherence, chronic disease management, maternal health, diagnostic accuracy, referral documentation, outcome monitoring.

03

Management & Governance

Leadership, staff credentialing, incident reporting systems, financial transparency, consent processes, strategic planning and review.

04

Community Accountability

Independent patient council, structured feedback at discharge, public quality reporting, complaint management with documented resolution.

Pricing

Transparent. Fixed. No surprises.

ASF membership is a fixed monthly fee covering all services listed above. The annual survey fee is the only additional cost. No per diem fees for surveyors. No preparation fees. No application costs.
