ASF Accreditation Pipeline — Georgia Pilot Cohort

This page documents the full pipeline of healthcare facilities that engaged with Accréditation Sans Frontières from the launch of the Georgia accreditation pilot in March 2021. It reflects the real history of ASF’s operational deployment — from initial expressions of interest through to formal surveys and accreditation decisions.

Note on the pilot cohort: The Georgia pilot (2021–2022) was ASF’s first operational deployment of the full accreditation programme. The pilot ran concurrently with the finalisation of the Hospital Standard Edition 2.0 and the formalisation of the ASF governance structure. Facilities that entered the process in 2021 were part of a controlled pilot; accreditation of the first two hospitals in Kutaisi began in 2025. Their learnings led to the updated standards finalised in 2026, and on-site surveys took place on 15 October 2026. This staged approach — from engagement to survey to decision — is consistent with international norms for new accreditation bodies deploying their standards for the first time.

Stage 4 — Full Accreditation Surveys (on-site 15 October 2026; decision November 2026)

Survey date Facility name Facility type City Country Certificate no. Validity
15 October 2026 Kutaisi Church Hospital Hospital — full inpatient Kutaisi Georgia Decision pending —
15 October 2026 National Health Organization Hospital — specialist services Tbilisi Georgia Decision pending —

Both surveys were conducted against the ASF Hospital Accreditation Standard, Edition 2.0 (2025), comprising 167 criteria across 20 standards. Surveys completed 15 October 2026. Accreditation decisions are expected in November 2026. Results will be published on the Accredited Healthcare Facilities page once finalised.

Stage 3 — ASF Pilot Certification Issued (2021–2023)

Four facilities completed the ASF pilot in 2021 and were accredited for two years, with PHIG as the Georgia National Adaptation Partner. The accreditation was extended by one year and ended in 2023. These facilities are eligible to re-enter the full accreditation programme under the current Edition 2.0 standard.
