ASF Tourism Governance & Policy · TOUR-POL-08
Code of Conduct & Ethics
Part of the ASF Tourism Governance & Policies set. Adapted from ASF-POL-31 (institutional Code of Conduct and Ethics).
1. Who signs this
Everyone who acts for ASF Tourism — Tourism Board members, Surveyors, Coordinators, and Monitors — signs this Code on joining and again annually, regardless of whether they also hold a role in ASF’s healthcare accreditation work.
2. What it requires
- Act impartially in every standards decision and every accreditation assessment, regardless of personal relationship to the facility.
- Declare conflicts under TOUR-POL-01 before they arise, not after.
- Never accept a gift, payment or favour from a facility under assessment, beyond what is reasonable and incidental to the visit itself.
- Treat every person encountered during an assessment — facility staff, guests, colleagues — with respect.
3. Breach and consequence
A breach is handled under TOUR-POL-04. For a certified Surveyor, Coordinator, or Monitor, a confirmed breach can mean reassignment, suspension from the roster, or removal, depending on severity — the same graduated response used for a declared conflict under TOUR-POL-01.
