Transparency & Public Disclosure

Part of the ASF Tourism Governance & Policies set. Adapted from ASF-POL-30 (institutional Transparency and Public Disclosure).

ASF Tourism publishes what it is, how it is governed, and how it performs, so that facilities, travellers, and the public can hold it to account.

1. Published on this site, always free

  • The full Standard, every criterion, every version — never paywalled, never a summary standing in for the real text.
  • This Governance & Policies set, including how it is adapted from and connects to ASF’s wider institutional manual.
  • The honest, current state of local partnerships — which countries are being looked at, and a plain statement that none are confirmed yet, until that changes.
  • How to raise a concern or a complaint, and what happens to it (TOUR-POL-04).

2. What this means in practice

Nothing on this site claims more than is true: a research deck is labelled as research, a prototype was labelled a prototype while it was one, and a “0 partnerships confirmed” statistic stays on the home page precisely because it’s true right now, not because it’s flattering. When a status changes — a first local partnership, a first facility accredited — the public pages are updated to reflect it, not left stale.

3. The accredited-facilities register

Once a first facility is accredited, a public register will list every currently accredited facility, its scope of accreditation, and its validity dates — the same transparency ASF already applies to healthcare accreditation — so that a traveller or a partner organisation can verify a claimed accreditation directly, rather than taking a facility’s word for it.
