Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes — Treatment Protocol Cards

What it is

Two protocol cards: hypertension (diagnosis thresholds, lifestyle, stepwise medication with the WHO HEARTS core drugs, targets, when to refer) and type 2 diabetes (diagnosis, metformin first, adding a sulfonylurea or insulin, targets, foot and eye checks, referral). To be confirmed against the national protocol.

Every consulting room; on the wall or in the desk drawer; the basis of the clinic's protocol until a national one supersedes it.
