Sample Labelling and Rejection Rules

What it is

The pre-analytical rules for wards and the laboratory: labelling at the bedside from the wristband (name, DOB, unique number, date, time, collector), request-form matching, the rejection criteria (unlabelled, mismatched, wrong tube, haemolysed, insufficient, leaking, delayed), the exception for irreplaceable samples, and the rejection log.
