Pass when. Hand hygiene is done before every observed procedure.

3. Instruments are single-use or sterilised, and sharps are disposed of at once.

Method. Check the instrument records and the sharps disposal on each sampled day.

Evidence to show. Sterile technique and infection control in procedures (PRO-SOP-005, existing, reused).

Pass when. Every sampled instrument is single-use or sterilised, and sharps are disposed of at once.
