Delegation of Authority and Signatures
Only an authorised signatory may commit ASF to a contract, payment, or published decision, and only within defined limits; every commitment needs two people — one to approve and one to check. Owner: ASF Secretariat, reporting to the International Standards Council.
| Standards decisions | Standards Panel + Council (per the Five-Stage Development Process) |
| Accreditation awards | Accreditation Decision Committee (per ASF-POL-22) |
| Financial commitments | Two signatories, per ASF-POL-19 |
| Policy approval and revision | International Standards Council, per ASF-POL-46 (Policy Development, Approval and Review) |
This table is made known to every Secretariat staff member, Coordinator, Monitor, and Surveyor at induction (ASF-POL-51), and is the single reference for who may authorise what. No one with a direct financial or personal interest in a specific accreditation decision holds authority over it: a Coordinator or Monitor is barred from decisions on their own facility, and Council members with a declared conflict are excluded from the relevant vote, under ASF-POL-48.
