Public Health Communication and Information Integrity
ASF communicates publicly about accreditation, standards, and accredited facilities accurately, and corrects errors promptly. Owner: ASF Secretariat.
- A facility’s accreditation status is stated exactly as decided by the Accreditation Decision Committee (ASF-POL-22) — Accredited, Accredited with Conditions, Deferred, or Not Accredited — never simplified or implied beyond the actual decision.
- Statistics published about ASF’s own field-testing record or facility outcomes match the live Field Testing Record on Standards Development exactly; no figure is published elsewhere that isn’t traceable to that source.
- Facility names remain confidential wherever the Field Testing Record or an active assessment states so, consistent with ASF-POL-18.
- Misinformation about ASF, a standard, or an accredited facility’s status is corrected publicly once identified.
Production standards
Published standards and guidance are prepared with input from people with relevant expertise (the Council’s Revision Panels), reviewed and edited before publication for accuracy and consistency with ASF’s established style (the navy/gold design system, ASF’s name and logo usage, and the document-control version numbering already applied across the Public Standards Register). Content is reviewed periodically to confirm it remains current, and reader feedback — through Feedback, Complaints and Incident Management (ASF-POL-21) — is used to identify where a document needs revision.
Version control
Every published document carries a version number; the Public Standards Register is the single authoritative record of the current version, and a superseded document is marked as such on the document itself, consistent with the document-control approach in Records Management and Retention (ASF-POL-40).
