ASF Governance & Policy Manual · ASF-POL-33
Donor Due Diligence, Gift Acceptance and Commercial Independence
Part of the ASF Governance & Policy Manual. Adapted from the PHIG Institutional Policy Manual (consolidated edition, September 2026).
ASF accepts funds and gifts only when they advance its mission and leave standards development and accreditation decisions fully independent. Owner: ASF Secretariat.
- No donor, sponsor or facility may influence the content of a standard or the outcome of an accreditation decision, consistent with Financial Independence (published on Standards Development) and the firewall between standard-writing and accreditation.
- Every prospective donor or major partner is screened under Sanctions and Prohibited Parties Screening (ASF-POL-25) before a funding agreement is signed.
- Gifts above a published threshold from any facility, donor or partner are declared and logged, never accepted by an individual Council member, Coordinator or Monitor personally.
