Intellectual Property, Open Access and Data Sharing

This entry indexes ASF’s existing Open Access and Intellectual Property Policy (ASF-IP-001-v1) for the Governance & Policy Manual. That policy governs publication of ASF’s standards, free of charge, from the point of field testing onward — referenced in the Field Testing Record on Standards Development — and remains the authoritative document under its own code, including its specific terms for use of ASF’s published standards by other assessment bodies (CC BY 4.0, with attribution).

Facility-specific assessment data is never covered by open access; it follows Data Protection, IT and Cybersecurity (ASF-POL-18) instead.
